February 9, 2011 Moving forward

Today was long but interesting. We went to Makati and visited Nera an IT company and they gave us an overview of their company and what they can do for our needs in the MTC expansion. It was most interesting. Very Very nice building. Good office atmosphere and seemingly good products. We stayed about 45 minutes then went to a nearby wet market before heading back to the office.

At 1:30 pm. we had our staff meeting with most of our officers. It is impressive to see that these men have capabilities that are finally being utilized. All that they have been used is to be at their post. Peter talked about visiting Naga and doing a security investigation for break-ins and thieves. With his help and Jener it showed the mission president there that the Security Department is really worthwhile. He said that if he wants to get anything done he will call Elder Burningham and then it gets done. Other officers spoke about how the security at the temple and at the MPAO can be better implemented. They have good minds and capabilities and they are not just super market guards. I felt so glad to know them and to see that they are good at their jobs and good priesthood leaders. Our mission here is quite corporate in nature. The missionary part is just getting to know the men and help them go forward with their talents. That's really the mission we are apart of. I feel good when I think about it. I am also looking ahead when we leave that I am going to miss these men. I have grown quite fond of them all. It will be hard to leave them knowing I might never see them again.
