While we are on a Security Mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints I have kept a journal of events and mission related posts with pictures that chronicles our time in the Philippines.

We are on our last month now. June 25, 2011. Four more weeks from today and we are released
Its hard to believe that we will be on our way out of the mission starting July 25th. But before we leave the Philippines we will see a little more country and then to Hong Kong for a few days before we come on home to LA. We are making preparations to come home and then to be home. It all takes planning.

Enjoy Hong Kong...visiting there is a great way to make the transition from mission to home. Hope you get to go to the temple there. It is small but beautiful.
ReplyDeleteIn our opinion Victoria Peak is over rated...the ride is great but if there is any overcast - and there was lots when we were there during June - there is little to see.
If you go to Lantau Island to see the big Buddha leave yourself enough time to take a bus or taxi to the fishing town of Tai O. Because of the tides it is built on stilts and hopefully the tide will be in when you get there - we were not that lucky. Since not too many tourists go there it is a fun place to just walk around and check out the shops and street vendors.
Have a safe trip home!
Thank you Bill for the tip. We did have plans to ride up the peak but we will remember the weather. June gloom must be present there. We will be there July 30th to Aug 3, so hopefully we will be past the June gloom. Thanks for the heads up.
